Authors
A number of our authors have won prestigious
awards, including Randy Houk: Randy, founder
of The Benefactory, has written a number
of books with The Benefactory, some of which
she has also illustrated: Bentley and Blueberry

Randy is working on two new books, In Wheelwright
Park, Don’t Bite! Don’t Bark!
Boris: Lost and Found, due in 2001. She
lives in Pembroke, MA with her two dogs
and three cats. Randy's book Chessie The
Travelin' Man won the National Parenting
Publications honors Award in 1997
Illustrators
A number of our illustrators have
won prestigious awards, including:
1997 National Association of Parenting Publications
Honors Award and in 1993 John Burrough's
Outstanding Nature Book for Children Award.
Narrators
Emmy, Grammy and Peabody award-winning musician,
Tom Chapin narrates the Benefactory's series
of true stories, both on the
Benefactory's audiocassettes and videotapes
and on The Benefactory's online storytellings.
Tom
and Michael Mark wrote the original theme
music heard on The Benefactory and on all storytelling
animatics. Tom is accompanied by Jon Cobert
on original music woven into each audiocassette
narration.

produced the animatic storytellings for

Man, as well as the live footage section
of the Wolves in Yellowstone video.
